a brief overview about Rabbanaa wa aatinaa maa wa'attanaa....
The supplication “رَبَّنَا وَآتِنَا مَا وَعَدتَّنَا عَلَىٰ رُسُلِكَ وَلَا تُخْزِنَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۗ إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ,” or “Rabbanaa wa aatinaa maa wa’attanaa,” is a profound dua that highlights the believer’s reliance on Allah’s promises and protection, especially on the Day of Judgment. It translates as “Our Lord, and grant us what You promised us through Your messengers, and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, You do not fail in [Your] promise.”
This dua is incredibly important to me as it touches on both faith and trust in Allah. We all have moments in life when we need to remind ourselves that Allah’s promises are true, and this dua is a plea to receive those divine rewards while being shielded from disgrace in the Hereafter. The dua “Rabbanaa wa aatinaa maa wa’attanaa” encourages us to reflect on the promises given to us by Allah through the prophets and reminds us that, despite our imperfections, we can still seek His mercy and protection from shame on the Day of Resurrection.
What stands out specially to in this dua is the combination of hope and humility. On one hand, it acknowledges the promises made by Allah, which gives us hope for a better life in the Hereafter. On the other hand, it is a plea for protection, asking not to be disgraced in the most critical moment of existence – the Day of Judgment. This balance between faith in divine promises and fear of being unworthy is deeply humbling.

I’m concluding this post here, hope this post had been beneficial for all of you. Please pray for me.As always I seek refuge in Allah Almighty from all kinds of harm and pray that He makes my work easy. I also pray that He considers this effort a means of salvation for us in this world and the hereafter. Whatever is good in my writing is entirely a blessing from Allah Almighty, and any faults are due to Satan (Devil) and my own lack of knowledge. JazakAllah. (Thank you).
